Rev. Klein was installed as Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in August of 2003. He was born and raised in Olathe, Kansas. He attended St. John's College in Winfield, Kansas, graduating in 1983. He then attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and received his Master of Divinity degree in 1987. Rev. Klein also received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2019.
Rev. Klein's first call was as Associate Pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel, Wisconsin. He served in that capacity until 1994 when he was called to be the Administrative Pastor. In September of 1997 Rev. Klein was installed as a Chaplain in the United States Navy. He served as Chaplain aboard the USS Vella Gulf (CG-72) from December of 1997 through June of 2000. From July 2000 to May 2003, he served as Chaplain at CREDO, Okinawa.
Rev. Klein is active in the Northfield community. He serves as a co-chair of Northfield's Beyond the Yellow Ribbon committee (https://www.northfieldbtyr.org/) and as the chaplain for Northfield's American Legion Post 84.
Rev. Klein married his wife, Amy, in August of 1990. They have been blessed with three children: Joel, Libby and Noah.
