Board of Missions

Barb Greenfield - secretary

The board of missions at Trinity picks various missions to support each year.  The current 2020 missions are listed below.  If you want to suggest a mission to support, please contact the church office to get an application form for the mission you’d like to suggest.  They need to be turned in by Oct. 31st

Community Action Center   (  At the Community Action Center (CAC) of Northfield, we are "neighbors helping neighbors." Our programs - from Creating Homes to Feeding the Hungry - meet the most basic needs of individuals and families who are seeking help.  As a nonprofit organization serving the life-sustaining needs of those in our area, many people rely on the CAC for support as they seek independence.  In the past, Trinity has helped with the food shelf, Operation Joy (Christmas Sharing), and Operation Backpack.

Chai v' Shalom  (

Barb Anderson with Pastor Kevin Parviz of the Chai v' Shalom congregation

Chai v' Shalom's ministry has a two-fold mission.  First, to be engaged in intentional outreach to the Jewish community in St. Louis, and through its partner ministries, in every city with a significant Jewish population.  And second, to help the Church learn to appreciated the Jewish roots of their faith, to the end that they would also be in ministry to God's first people, from whom He sent His only Son, Messiah Y'shua, that the world might be reconciled to Him.

Adopt-A-Student  (                                                                                                                    Adopt-A-Student is a program of the LCMS seminaries where a congregation can support a seminary student for a year.  Our student (Kyle Lewis) is planning to be a future pastor.  All of the money sent to the student goes directly to the student for his needs.  Over the course of the year, we will get correspondence from Kyle and may be able to have him come to Trinity for a Sunday to meet us.

P.O.B.L.O. (People of the Book Lutheran Outreach)        (                                                                                                         POBLO missionaries and volunteers are involved in missions and community engagement through various efforts.  Volunteers teach English, sewing, and computer skills to immigrants and refugees at two International Friendship Centers.  Citizenship classes are also offered.  Missionaries John & Mariam Gaye, together with a group of volunteers, are connecting people from many countries to Bible study and worship as they share the Gospel message.  They also provide food, clothing, and furniture to refugees in need.

LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots)                                Once again, Trinity will be supporting LAMP through members of our congregation who are planning to travel to Canada for VBS later in the summer.  Along with our helping with funding, the team members will be collecting supplies for their trip.  Contact Karen Wagner for more information.
