Annual Game Day
Everyone is welcome to Trinity’s annual Game Day and (Optional) Soup Contest today after Bible Class until 1:00 p.m.  Bring your friends and favorite board or card games.  A soup and cracker lunch will be provided, but bring a pot of your best homemade soup if you want to compete for bragging rights and fabulous prizes!  It’s cold outside, but it’s nice and warm in the Fellowship Hall so please come. No RSVP required.

The Concordia Organist CD’s
The church council has approved the use of some of the money from the Robert Broske Memorial fund to purchase a boxed set of cd’s to use for worship services.  The title of the collection is “The Concordia Organist”.  It contains pipe organ accompaniments for all of the hymns and liturgical music in Lutheran Service Book. The hymns on the cd’s were recorded at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana.   The board of Stewardship would like to extend a special thank you to Pauline Broske for donating funds from Robert Broske’s Memorial Fund towards this useful gift.

Glimpses of Eternity:  Icons in the Orthodox World
“Glimpses of Eternity: Icons in the Orthodox World” is an exhibit of icons and other religious objects gathered from Russian, Greek, Ethiopian, and Coptic religious traditions. These objects date from the 16th to the 20th Century. Through their imagery, icons open visible doorways to religious faith, the historic past, and the future glory of heaven. This exhibit is at the Perlman Teaching Museum in the Weitz Center on the campus of Carleton College.
Icons are most commonly a painting of God, or a holy person or persons. Generally they are associated with the Orthodox branch of the Christian faith. Icons are religious objects rather than art objects. They have a unique place the private and public piety in the life of Orthodox Christians. They give a very visible dimension to the Christian faith. Because they are religious objects, most of the artists who crafted them are unknown. This exhibit would be an excellent thing to view during the Lenten season.
Pastor Boehme has contacted the curator of the exhibit to see if Trinity members could go as a group with an exhibit guide on Sunday afternoon, March 4th at 12:00 pm. The exhibit is open Saturdays and Sundays from Noon to 4 PM as well as during the week. In addition to the icon exhibit, the group can view the “Contemporary American painting” exhibit which is also at the Perlman Teaching Museum in the Weitz Center.
A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway for those who are interested. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Boehme.

Northfield Women’s Center
One of Trinity’s missions this year is the Northfield Women’s Center.  The center exists to be trusted resource for women experiencing an unintended pregnancy by providing critical support and accurate information needed to make a choice for life possible at no cost to any woman. The caring support is available throughout her pregnancy and beyond making it possible to choose life for her child instead of being pressured to have an abortion. Their biggest needs right now are diapers (size 4&5), wipes, new baby clothes and monetary donations. Please look at the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall for more information and the table to place your donated items. There are also plastic baby bottle banks that you can take home with you to fill with coins. Then bring these back to church by Feb. 25th and we will return the filled bottles to the Center.   Thank you from the Board of Missions
